Williamsburg Police have charged a James City County woman with robbery last month at a Richmond Road motel — the second time within a month — after entering a customer’s room and stealing his wallet.
Laurie Leigh Thorn, 44, is charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny at a motel on the 3000 block of Richmond Road, according to an arrest report from Maj Greg Riley. Thorn was served at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail on March 31 where she was being held on unrelated charges, Riley said.
This is the second time Thorn has been charged in the past couple of weeks with pilfering at a local motel. Earlier in March, Thorn was also involved in an armed robbery and assault at an America’s Inn Hotel at 1610 Richmond Rd. During the incident, Thorn along with another male person wielded a knife to attack and rob a pizza delivery man. Thorn was arrested on a charge of robbery and possession of cocaine.

Williamsburg police responded to this latest incident on March 25 at the 3000 block of Richmond Road. The victim told police on March 21, a female suspect whom he identified as Thorn. Police believe, Thorn entered his room, when he opened the door for her and took his wallet which contained an undetermined amount of money.
Thorn is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail pending a hearing at Williamsburg-James City County General District Court on May 5.
