Police are looking for a man accused of attempting to commit fraud at a Williamsburg Walmart in January.
The incident occurred Jan. 20 when the individual allegedly presented an old receipt with items totaling $33.45 to customer service seeking a refund of those items listed, according to a York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office Facebook post.
According to the post, police say the man picked those same items off the shelves and returned them at the customer service desk for cash in that same amount.
The man then attempted to do the same thing with other items, but was denied.
Police seek the public’s help to identify the man. The public is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or the FB TIP Line at 757 890-4999 with any information about the incident.
