Are you looking for some clean fun for your family this weekend? You won’t find it at the first Capital Color Ride on Oct. 8 in James City County.
You may show up in a white t-shirt for the 14-mile-round-trip bike ride, but you’ll leave looking like you rode across a rainbow.
The ride begins and ends at the Chickahominy Riverfront Park with plenty of color stops along the way, according to a James City County Parks and Recreation news release.
Bring a bike and a white t-shirt to show how far you’ve come. Color pit stops begin with purple at the 1-mile mark and end with gold at the finish line, the release states.
There will also be bike registration and safety checks by the James City County Police Department.
Registration costs $10 per person, and includes refreshments, maps, a t-shirt and lunch. Kids 9 years and younger are free to ride.
Register at the James City County Recreation Center, Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, Chickahominy Riverfront Park, the Freedom Park Interpretive Center or at jamescitycountyva.gov/recreation, code # 410400-A.
