Tide Radio is the official radio partner of the Norfolk Admirals for the 2016-2017 season.
The Admirals, the ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, have paired with 102.1 The Tide (WXTG-FM) for coverage of the team’s regular season and playoff games, according to a release. Broadcasts will feature Pete Michaud, the “Voice of the Admirals.” In addition to radio coverage, 102. 1 The Tide will have Admirals information on its local, Virginia Beach-based online newspaper, wydaily.com.
“We’re looking forward to returning to the FM airwaves this season,” Admirals Vice President Joe Gregory said in a release. “We know our fans will be thrilled with the improved signal 102.1 FM The Tide provides. We strive to make our games easily accessible to as many fans as possible whether we are at Scope or on the road.”
The first Admirals’ broadcast on Tide Radio will be the team’s Oct. 14 home opener against Kalamazoo at Norfolk Scope Arena.
