A 30-year-old man is accused of strangling and raping a woman while parked on a dead-end road in Norge.
Christopher Rashad Johnson, of the 7000 block of Croaker Road, was charged with strangulation and rape on Aug. 18 after police say he attacked a woman around 11 p.m. the night before while they were parked on Cokes Lane, according to documents filed in Williamsburg-James City County General District Court.
The victim knew Johnson and agreed to meet up with him in Williamsburg on Aug. 17. They went to the laundromat, the Cook Out drive-thru and the Norge Farm Fresh where they bought alcohol and Black & Mild cigars, court records show.
The pair parked on Cokes Lane where they kissed. Johnson asked the victim to have sex with him and she said “no,” court documents state.
Johnson choked the victim until she was lightheaded and punched her in the face which stunned her. Then he turned her over and raped her, according to court documents.
The victim reported telling Johnson she didn’t want to have sex with him before and during the rape. She also had a SANE examination after the incident at Riverside Doctors Hospital. The hospital contacted the James City County Police Department around 2:15 a.m., said police spokeswoman Stephanie Williams.
Johnson’s case will be heard in Williamsburg-James City County General District Court on Sept. 15. He is also scheduled to appear in Williamsburg-James City County General District Court on Sept. 1 for a shoplifting charge.
Johnson is currently in custody at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail and was not available for comment at time of publication, but has agreed to speak with WYDaily on a later date.
