Virginia Beach symphony orchestra holding auditions

VIRGINIA BEACH – Calling all string and timpani players: Symphonicity will soon hold auditions for its 2016-17 season.

Timpani auditions will be held late August. String auditions are Sept. 6. All tryouts will be at the Sandler Center.

String applicants should contact Danielle Fagan at [email protected] and timpani applicants should contact Alan Brown at [email protected]. Symphonicity, which is the Symphony Orchestra of Virginia Beach, has more than 100 members, including freelance musicians, members of the Armed Forces, high school students and others, according to a press release.

The 2016-2017 season will feature “A Quest for the Best,” in which five finalists for the positions of Symphonicity’s music director and conductor will be presented. For more information, visit symphonicity.org.
