Where can you try strawberry pizza and watch pigs race? The 33rd Annual Pungo Strawberry Festival.

The festival, which runs Friday to Sunday, will feature gospel singers, police dog demonstrations, magic shows, pie eating contests and more. More than 100,000 people are expected for the strawberry-picking event at 1776 Princess Anne Road.

A carnival will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m Friday. Festival hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free, but wristbands for carnival rides are $25 on Friday, and $35 on Sunday. Wristbands will not be sold Saturday, but ride tickets can be individually purchased for $1 a ticket. Parking is $10.

The Pungo Strawberry Festival is a nonprofit organization staffed by volunteers. The event is funded by carnival ticket sales, donations and vendor and parking fees, according to a release. Excess proceeds become donations for college scholarships and nonprofits.
