First Colonial has sprinted to an undefeated start thanks to the stellar sophomore duo of Isabelle Blomdahl (six goals) and Idelys Vazquez (eight goals), who’ve spurred an offensive attack averaging 5 goals per game.

Landstown has shutout its last two opponents in wins after starting 0-2. The Eagles won’t get a taste of conference action before May, when they hope they’ll be clicking on all cylinders.

Tallwood’s sizzling offensive startthanks to its deep attack unit’s ability to rain shots and goals at any given moment (outscoring its opponents 43-5 in five wins), makes the Lions a dark horse in a loaded Coastal Conference.

Kellam’s 1-0 win Thursday over traditional Coastal power Cox sent a statement to its new conference friends. Freshman attack Abigail Dent has emerged as a serious scoring threat for the Knights.

In the words of Kellam coach Mario Hurdle, the Falcons’ record “doesn’t reflect how good of a program they are.” Last year’s 6A state finalist opened with a tough schedule and still has plenty of time to return to form before conference play kicks into gear in three weeks.

  1. First Colonial (5-0)
  2. Landstown (2-2)
  3. Tallwood (5-1)
  4. Kellam (1-1-1)
  5. Cox (0-4)

On the bubble: Ocean Lakes (3-3),  Princess Anne (4-0)
