MP&A Receives Award for Muscarelle Brochure

The design team behind the latest brochure for the Muscarelle Museum of Art has been recognized for their innovation, creativity and excellence in communications and marketing with a Silver Award of Distinction from the Acadmey of Interactive and Visual Arts.

MP&A Digital and Advertising is a locally based digital marketing and advertising agency, and this is the second year they have been honored with a Communicator Award from the organization.

In addition to the award for the Muscarelle brochure, MP&A also received an award for a print brochure it designed for the spa at Rosalie Bay Resort, which is located in Dominica, a Caribbean island.

The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts received more than 6,000 applications for the Communicator Award this year. The awards go to communications professionals who demonstrate “creative excellence,” and are judged by a group of professional from various disciplines within the visual arts.

AIVA itself includes more than 600 members and touts the annual Communicator Awards as “the largest and most competitive” awards program for communications professionals, according to a press release from the organization.

“It’s a privilege to be recognized by our peers and by AIVA among the ‘best of the best’ in the world for creative excellence,” says Madigan Pratt, President of MP&A Digital & Advertising. “They are also a testament to our ability to… generate results for our clients whether they are a non-profit right here in Williamsburg or one of the world’s top resorts 1,800 miles away on the Caribbean island of Dominica.”

 

James S. Heller To Be Inducted Into Law Library Hall of Fame

American Association of Law LibrariesA College of William & Mary professor will soon be inducted into the American Association of Law Libraries Hall of Fame.

James S. Heller, a law library director, professor of law, and professor of public policy at the College is among four individuals nationwide who are being inducted into the Hall of Fame at the AALL ceremony next month in Philadelphia.

Heller, like the other applicants, has been selected for induction based on his “significant, substantial, and long-standing contributions to the profession of legal information management,” according to a news release from AALL.

In order to be considered for induction, candidates must have been a member of AALL for at least 25 years and “contributed significant service to the profession in Association leadership positions.”

“I joined AALL when I began my career in law librarianship in 1977. It’s been a great career, and my involvement in AALL was rewarded by giving me a number of professional opportunities, as well as a lot of new colleagues and friends,” Heller said.
