Cub Scout Pack 414 joined with members of the community Thursday evening to honor the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
On the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the troop built a memorial garden at the James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department. They gathered there Thursday with station members, James City County Police, military men and women, and about 150 residents to pay tribute to those who lost their lives.
York County Employee Recognized for 20 Years of Service
Linde Hughes was recently honored for working for York County for 20 years.
Hughes serves as Circuit Court land records supervisor, where she manages a variety of tasks related to the county’s records. York County hired Hughes in 1994, and she was promoted to lead the division in 2000.
“Linde strives to provide a high level of efficiency and accuracy within the Clerk’s Office and is known for her acute attention to detail, infectious laugh and willingness to help others when needed,” said Kristen Nelson, clerk of the Circuit Court, in a news release.
