Three York County employees were recently recognized for their long tenure working for the locality.

Brian Fuller has served for 30 years, while Laurie Coleman and Molly Nealer were honored for 20-year terms.

Fuller currently acts as manager for the Parks, Recreation and Tourism division. In his years with York County, he has helped to develop and supervise many of the county’s sports and recreational programs, as well as overseen special events in Yorktown.

His research on the need for more athletic fields led to the opening of the 13-field York County Sports Complex in 2009. By using Fuller’s expertise, the county was able to save consulting fees in the process.

“Brian has truly made a profound impact in helping to shape and develop the recreational programs and facilities our residents and visitors enjoy today,” said Laurie Coleman, director of the department of community services, in a news release.

Coleman came to York County in 1994 as its human resources manager. There she worked to implement the county’s first online application system and human resources information management system.

After 19 years in that role she rose to her current position, where she manages a variety of staff and programs across multiple divisions of the county. Coleman is also the liaison to York County’s Library Board.

Nealer is the county’s recreation supervisor, a job that got her heavily involved with the Skate, Rattle, & Roll roller skating program. The event has grown to two locations — the Historic Triangle Community Services Center and Dare Elementary School — and has attracted more than 250,000 skaters.

She is also responsible for organizing the Summer Fun program, serving children ages 5 to 13 at six locations, and working with New Quarter Park to support the space and offer activities.

“Molly has been an invaluable member of our work family in parks and recreation for the last 20 years,” Fuller said of Nealer in a release. “Many families and visitors to our parks enjoy programs that she has developed and continues to administer.”
