For decades, This Century Art Gallery has been giving its members a platform to show off their creations.

The gallery on North Boundary Street opened its doors in 1959, and the annual members’ show came not long after.

This year’s show, featuring the work of 88 artists in total, is on display now through July 11.

While all TCAG members are eligible to submit one piece in any medium, it is the only show judged for prizes and exhibited in the entire gallery. TCAG’s members include artists and art supporters, as well as the gallery’s business art partners.

An outside judge reviews their work after installation and selects 12 artists to receive cash prizes for their pieces, awarded at the annual members’ preview and reception. James Warwick Jones, gallery manager at the Charles H. Taylor Arts Center in Hampton, judged this show and bestowed the awards.

This year’s top winner was Carlton S. Abbott, who earned Best in Show for his acrylic painting “Flick of the Switch.” Second place went to Holland Wentz Etheridge — also currently on display at New Town Art Gallery — for her graphite drawing “Five Friends,” and Kevin Schrack won third for his mixed media work “What Is Not (Fidelity),”’ which includes a photo collage, cardboard and sandpaper.

A special Juror’s Choice Award went to Pat Cowan, whose watercolor painting is titled “Noordam Feast.”

Jones gave Merit Awards to Betty Anglin, Sue Danehy, Mundy Hackett, Kathy Hornsby, Urlee O’Donnell, Shirley Roby, June Skalak and Arthur Wycoff.

The members’ show is sponsored by Williamsburg Landing, with the top three prizes are endowed by a donation from Ambassador Howard Walker.

TCAG is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
