Holistic Health Center Offers Martial Arts Classes
BioHarmony Rejuvenation Center has started the Wing Chun Kung Fu Institute, with classes and private instruction available. Wing Chun Kung Fu is a form of martial arts that originated in China about 300 years ago.
Class days and hours are from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, 7:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Yorktown Naval Weapons Station Housing Director Honored
Shelia Crute, Yorktown Naval Weapons Station’s installation site director for housing, was named Housing Partner of the Year on Feb. 7 as part of the annual Lincoln Military Housing Gold Medallion awards. The award recognizes the hard working partners that provide the best possible service to military families, working side-by-side with the LMH team.

LMH works to improve military homes in communities they manage, working with Navy, Marine Corps, Army and Air Force leaders.
“Shelia Crute’s dedication, not only to our military families but to Lincoln Military Housing, truly comes first,” said Samantha Stapleton, LMH district manager.
“Every day, I want to ensure everyone is aware of the housing services and programs provided here at the Housing Service Center in Yorktown and that they are a ‘Valued Customer’ to us,” Crute said. “This award highlights the team work and dedication to the people serviced by the Housing Service Center Yorktown has not gone unnoticed and is making a difference.”
WCA Receives Sponsorship from Old Point National Bank
Old Point National Bank recently presented a $10,000 sponsorship check to Williamsburg Christian Academy for the school’s seventh annual “Soar Like Eagles” luncheon.
This is the sixth consecutive year Old Point has served as the presenting sponsor for WCA’s signature fundraising event.
The luncheon will be held March 19 at the Williamsburg Lodge. This year’s theme is “Together: Building Christian Leaders.”
Local Nursing Homes Earn Five Stars for Health Services
Patriots Colony and Woodhaven Hall at Williamsburg Landing were both named among the best nursing homes in Virginia, according to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The CMS Five-Star Quality Rating System ranks the nation’s skilled nursing homes on a one to five star scale based on the results of on-site inspections to determine compliance with regulations, quality measures and staffing.
Woodhaven Hall at Williamsburg Landing, was given five stars in all three categories, and the Convalescent Center at Patriots Colony received an overall rating of five stars.
Williamsburg Presbyterian Church Welcomes New Reverend
The Reverend Dr. John E. Morgan will be installed as pastor and head of staff of the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church at the 11 a.m. service March 16.
Morgan is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church. He and his wife moved to Williamsburg last year from York, Pa., where he was pastor for 14 years. Reverend Morgan began his ministry with WPC in June 2013.
