Support services for children while vying for a new ride at Child Development Resources’ 36th annual Bid ‘n’ Buy Auction.
Scheduled for March 23 at Jamestown High School, the event will feature hundreds of silent and live auction items ranging from gift certificates to fine dining establishments, trips, sporting events, jewelry, toys and more.
One lucky winner will be able to drive home in a prize. Hall Ford Lincoln in Newport News has donated a 2014 Ford Fusion SE to be raffled off at this year’s event. The vehicle’s estimated value is $24,000.
Tickets for the car raffle are available online or by calling 566-3300. The event will sell 2,000 tickets, which will be available for $25 each or five for $100.
“This is our very first car raffle,” said Marsha Hargette, CDR’s Director of Development, in a news release. Hargette joined CDR in December 2013 with a long history of work in the nonprofit sector.
“This generous donation will go a long way to helping us provide area babies with toddlers with the services they need,” she said.
All proceeds from the raffle and auction will benefit CDR’s programs, which include home visits, parent groups, specialized therapies, developmental playgroups and childcare. Founded in 1966, the nonprofit organization serves about 1,000 children and their families each year.
Doors will open at the event at 11:30 a.m.
