Middle Peninsula Insurance and Financial Services has added a new face and promoted a familiar one.
On Oct. 29, the firm announced the addition of Kathy Shields to their Financial Services Division and the promotion of Matt Slye to Personal Lines Manager on the insurance side.
Kathy Shields joins the Financial Services Division as a Health Insurance Specialist, handling most of the day-to-day customer service health insurance responsibilities. She will also assist in analyzing the rapidly changing and moving parts in the health insurance world.
“We are pleased to have Kathy joining the team. During this time of great change in the health insurance marketplace, having Kathy’s wealth of experience will prove to be very valuable,” said Managing Partner Bill Morrison in a news release.
Shields is a Williamsburg native, and although her work took her as Minnesota and Oregon, she is happy to be back in her hometown.
Matt Slye has been with Middle Peninsula for more the seven years, and will now oversee company’s Personal Lines Division with departments in Williamsburg and Deltaville, Va. Slye previously worked as an Account Manager and Producer.
“Matt has done a great job for us and we know he will continue to maintain his high standards as he manages a rapidly growing, very important segment of our business,” President Joe Harrow said in a news release. “I am proud of him and all that we have been able to accomplish in our Personal Lines Division.”
A graduate of Lafayette High School, Slye recent earned Independent Agents of Virginia (IIAV) 2013 Young Agent of the Year Award.
