Save your teeth and your waistline, all while helping a good cause.

New Town Dental Arts in Williamsburg is hosting a Halloween candy collection drive.

This is the sixth year the practice has collected Halloween candy. The drive benefits members of the U.S. military.

According to its website, New Town Dental Arts has the mission to “build the overall health and well-being of the people we serve and the community as a whole.”

New Town Dental Arts will accept any uneaten and unopened Halloween Candy starting Monday through Nov. 8, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The practice is located at 4939 Courthouse St. in New Town. For more information, call 757-259-0741.

Local Pediatric Dentist Will Buy Back Your Halloween Candy

Candy can be exchanged for cash on Friday Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and on Monday Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Kids can still have all of the fun of trick-or-treating and their teeth won’t suffer and their piggybanks will grow,” said Dr. Rana Graham-Montaque, owner of Pediatric Dental Specialists of Williamsburg, in a news release on Oct. 22.

“The practice chose to participate in the Halloween Candy Buy Back to help parents that want to limit the amount of damage that can be done to their children’s teeth. We want to encourage and teach preventative care, not last options to save your smile.”

The candy collected will be shipped to troops overseas via Operation Gratitude. The practice will also provide paper and writing utensils for anyone who would like to include a letter to service members.

Pediatric Dental Specialists of Williamsburg is located at 213 Bulifants Boulevard, Suite B. To learn more, call 757-903-4525.
