Starting this weekend, parents and students can honor their favorite teachers by submitting a nomination for Macaroni Kid Williamsburg‘s Teacher of the Month.
Macaroni Kid Williamsburg, in its second year of issuing the monthly honor, will name one teacher from Hampton Roads as the Teacher of the Month.
The winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from Relay Foods, an online grocery store that recently launched pickup locations in Williamsburg. They will also receive a gift certificate from KidsDineFree.net and various gifts from monthly sponsors.
Nominations are now being accepted. The first Teacher of the Month for the 2013-14 school year will be announced Oct. 2 in Macaroni Kid Williamsburg’s weekly e-newsletter.
“The first year of the program was a huge success, with about 350 teachers being nominated from Williamsburg/JCC, Newport News and Hampton, VA schools,” Amy King, editor/publisher of Macaroni Kid Williamsburg said in a news release. “Every teacher that won the monthly award last school year said the honor was special, the prizes were generous, but that teaching is their passion and they couldn’t imagine doing anything else!”
