The Community Alliance for the Performing Arts (CAPA) Fund is currently offering scholarships for young men interested in the performing arts.
The “Boys in The Arts Scholarship” aims to give young men training in musical theater or classical ballet for the upcoming school year at the Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts.
The CAPA Fund program will accept up to 20 boys between the ages of 11 and 16 who have a strong drive for the performing arts and a willingness to commit to training. The program runs for two semesters, beginning in September.
Scholarships are available for acting, singing and movement, jazz and tap and body conditioning classes as part of the Musical Theater Division, or for ballet technique, partnering, modern/contemporary and body conditioning as part of the Classic Ballet Division.
Those interested must submit an application. If selected by the committee, an applicant will need to set an appointment for an evaluation to determine the correct class level.
For more information or to get an application, visit the Eastern Virginia School for the Performing Arts website or call 757-8535.
