Hometown: See Local Artist Bob Oller’s Work

Artist Bob Oller (pictured right) captured the spirit of a recent Bruce Hornsby concert in a painting, according to Hornsby’s mother, Lois Horsby (pictured left). See Oller’s recent works at the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance.

The Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance will be featuring the work of local artist Bob Oller in its foyer gallery through November.

Oller, who works in acrylics and vector art (a kind of digital illustration), will share seven new pieces in the exhibit titled “Looking for the Colors.”

One of the larger pieces on display is “Hornsby on the Keys,” an image of Grammy-winning musician and Williamsburg native Bruce Hornsby during a show on May 4 of this year. Hornsby was celebrating the reopening of the State Theatre in Culpeper.

Oller attended the show and was inspired. “I was at eye-level and could see his fingers really well,” Oller said. “To see that dance was delightful.”

Other pieces on display are:
•       “Crimdell in the Sunlight”
•       “Peace in the Son”
•       “Day Dreams”
•       “Butterfield”
•       “Charlie at Work”
•       “The Palace Bridge”

The Alliance is located at 421 N Boundary Street in Williamsburg.
