The local branch of the Alzheimer’s Association is hosting a kick-off party Wednesday at The Cove Tavern for the Williamsburg Walk to End Alzheimer’s fundraiser that is happening this fall.
The kick-off event will feature live music from the local band “London” and raffles, as well as lots of information about the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The walk will help raise money for the nonprofit’s mission – to provide care and support for people affected by the illness, to reduce the risk of dementia by promoting brain health and to ultimately eliminate the illness altogether.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s does more than raise money; it gives people a chance to get involved with the cause by learning about advocacy opportunities, the latest in Alzheimer’s research, clinical trial enrollment and available support programs and services.
