The CarePlex Orthopaedic Ambulatory Surgery Center (COASC) recently donated $25,000 to Project CARE to help low-income uninsured residents get access to medical care.
Project CARE works with all three local hospital systems (Riverside, Sentara, and Bon Secours), multiple private medical providers and the region’s safety net health care clinics that provide quality primary health care to the community’s low-income, uninsured residents.
Patients in the program receive high-quality health care services that are provided at little to no cost to the patient.
Project CARE of the Greater Virginia Peninsula is supported by the Peninsula Town Center Community Foundation, the Williamsburg Community Health Foundation, the Sentara Health Foundation, the Riverside Health System Foundation, the Virginia Health Care Foundation, and many others.
COASC specializes in outpatient orthopaedic surgery and offers specialized hand, shoulder, knee, and foot and ankle procedures. Physicians from Tidewater Orthopaedic Associates provide the center’s services.
