The William and Mary Elder Law Clinic is hosting a workshop on estate planning this month.
The free workshop, called “Estate Planning & Your Future,” will begin at 2 p.m. on April 12 at the William & Mary School of Law at 613 South Henry Street.
The Clinic volunteers will focus on the essentials of estate planning, including simple wills, power of attorney, and medical directives and is intended for local seniors.
The Elder Law Clinic provides free legal assistance for qualifying seniors; it is made up of second and third year law students and gives them a chance to use their training while helping members of the community.
The Clinic assists clients in creating plans to deal with current legal and financial issues and prepare for the future and in drafting the necessary documents to carry out those plans. Also, when needed, the Clinic provides advocacy for clients who are unable to speak for themselves.
Visit the Clinic website for more information about the workshop or to find contact information.
