March is Red Cross Month, and there are several blood drives going on in the Historic Triangle.
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers, provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.
Donors can make an appointment to give blood by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or logging on to redcrossblood.org. Those interested can also call 623-4880 for more information about platelet donation. Platelets only have a shelf life of 5 days.

- March 13 Williamsburg-James City County Sheriff’s Office, 5201 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- March 13 Printpack Inc., 400 Packets Court, Williamsburg; 8 to 11 a.m.
- March 13 The Virginia Gazette, 216 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg; 1 to 4 p.m.
- March 21 James City Ruritans, 9401 Fieldstone Parkway, Toano; 1:30 to 7 p.m.
- March 21 Peninsula Community Chapel, 4209 Big Bethel Road, Yorktown; 1 to 7 p.m.
- March 27 St. Olaf Catholic Church, 104 Norge Lane, Williamsburg; 1 to 7 p.m.
