Williamsburg SCORE will be hosting a workshop on financial management for small business on March 16.
SCORE, “Counselors to America’s Small Business,” offers experience-based small business coaching and mentoring.
The March workshop will be presented by Charles Connelly of Williamsburg SCORE. He has 32 years of experience in financial management with a major international corporation, including controller of several major business sectors, director of internal audit, and investor relations management.
This workshop covers the essentials of small business financial management in easily understood language illustrated by examples and exercises. Participants will learn:
- What financial records are essential and why
- Basics of accounting for business management
- Preparation, understanding and use of financial accounting statements for business decisions
- Basics of financial analysis for pricing, profit/loss forecasts, cash flow forecasts and other financial management actions
- Essential internal financial control
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on March 16 at the Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance building on North Boundary Street. The cost is $24 in advance by March 14 or $29 cash or check at the door. Get more information on the SCORE website.
