Hometown: Artcafe26 Raises Funds for CHKD

Artcafe26 owner Sibilla Dengs and her Executive Chef Bernhard Klinger helped raise over $1,400 for Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters.

Artcafe26 raised $1,407 for Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters at its annual Soup Take Out fundraiser.

Artcafe26, a restaurant and art gallery in New Town owned by Sibilla Dengs, hosts a Soup Take Out event on Christmas Eve each year. On that day, customers can order cups of Mushroom and Tomato soup to go for just a few hours; the proceeds are collected for charity.

“In two hours, we raised $1,407 for Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters,” said Dengs. “This was our fourth time supporting this great cause.”

Through various events in the past, Artcafe26 has raised $4,000 for Beyond Boobs, and it has also supported other causes such as Wounded Warrior Project and FISH. Not long ago, the business also held a fundraiser for struggling single mother with severe rheumatoid arthritis.

“As we start our eighth year, we look forward to continuing to support our local community in 2013,” Dengs said.
