Hometown: LEAD Historic Triangle Seeking Volunteers, Donations

The 2013 class of LEAD Historic Triangle is looking for donations and volunteers for a community event it’s planning to help homeless people living in the Triangle.

The one-day event, called “Hands Together Historic Triangle,” will gather needed services in one place for local homeless people. Providers who will be on hand will include social service agencies, nonprofits, healthcare providers and more.

The group is looking for help from the community to make the event a success. “A community-wide issue requires a community-wide solution,” according to a press release from the LEAD Historic Triangle participants. “The class is currently seeking sponsors, volunteers and providers for this event and is actively working to engage all of the Greater Williamsburg community in this project.

“Your participation – whether monetary, product donations, service delivery or providing volunteers – will make a tremendous difference in many lives.”

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 4 at the Quarterpath Recreation Center. To volunteer or donate, or to learn more, email the group at [email protected].

LEAD Historic Triangle is sponsored by the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance. Its mission is to encourage, develop and support future community leaders and to provide the foundation necessary to develop effective local leaders.
