The Farley Center at Williamsburg Place will be hosting a lecture on grief and addiction next week.
Donna Grile, who has been a professional counselor for 25 years, will give the lecture as part of the Farley Center’s Professional Lecture Series from 8:30 to 9 a.m. on Jan. 25 at the Pavilion at Williamsburg Place.
Grile will discuss how unresolved grief can lead to substance use and abuse when an individual feels unable to cope with the feelings that come from loss of a loved one. She will talk about the cycle that can come from unresolved grief and substance abuse, which often leads to other losses.
The presentation will help identify methods that will help clients process grief in a healthy way.
