WILLIAMSBURG— William & Mary outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator Darryl Blackstock has been selected to participate in the 2026 NFL Bill Walsh Diversity Fellowship.

Blackstock will work with the Tennessee Titans during organized team activities from May 11-29 at the team’s training facility in Nashville, Tennessee.

It marks the second time Blackstock has been selected for the fellowship. He previously worked with the then-reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams during training camp in July 2022.

“I am truly humbled and thank God for this opportunity,” Blackstock said. “I am also grateful to Coach London for his support, leadership, and belief in my development and ability to represent the Tribe.”

The program is designed to use NFL teams’ offseason workout programs, minicamps and training camps to provide coaches with opportunities to gain experience, with the goal of helping them earn full-time NFL coaching positions.

William & Mary head coach Mike London also previously participated in the program.

Blackstock, who coaches the outside linebackers (rush ends), is entering his eighth season as an assistant on William & Mary’s staff this fall. He has served as special teams coordinator since 2023.

His units have played a key role in the Tribe’s success in recent seasons, with William & Mary consistently ranking among the Colonial Athletic Association’s top defenses and special teams groups during his tenure.

A seven-year NFL veteran at linebacker and defensive end, Blackstock played for the Arizona Cardinals (2005-07), Cincinnati Bengals (2008-09), Oakland Raiders (2011) and Baltimore Ravens (2012).

Blackstock began his professional career after a standout tenure at the University of Virginia. A three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection, he led the league in sacks and ranked among the national leaders at linebacker as a junior.
