NEWPORT NEWS — Christian Hatley scored a club-record four goals as Lionsbridge FC tied a team record for most goals in a match with an 11-0 thrashing of Ashland Town FC on Wednesday night at TowneBank Stadium.
Hatley’s scoring barrage began in the 62nd minute and included goals in the 65th, 87th, and 90th minutes, capping a dominant second half. Lionsbridge outshot the visitors 29-0 and controlled every phase of the game, earning six corners to Ashland Town’s one.
Evan Howard opened the scoring in the 5th minute after intercepting a pass from the opposing keeper. Sam Hall added a penalty kick in the 12th after Ricky Louis was fouled in the box, and by the 39th minute, Lionsbridge led 4-0 following goals from Gabi Rodriguez and Isaiah Chisolm.
Lionsbridge extended their lead in the second half with goals from Mathues Ulrich (55’, 78’), Hatley, and Dennis Krioutchenkov. The 11-0 result matches the club’s all-time best for goals scored in a game.
Lionsbridge remains undefeated at 8-0-3 overall and 5-0-3 in Chesapeake Division play. They host Virginia Beach United on June 21 at TowneBank Stadium in the Coastal Virginia Cup.
