NORFOLK — The ECHL announced the finalists for the 2024-25 Team Awards Wednesday, and Norfolk Admirals Director of Broadcasting and Hockey Communications Weston DeWitt has been named a finalist 2024-25 ECHL Broadcaster of the Year.

This is the second consecutive season in which DeWitt has been nominated for the award. The awards will be presented at the 2025 ECHL Hockey Summer Meetings in Orlando on Wednesday, June 25.

“I am honored to be one of the finalists for ECHL Broadcaster of the Year. The other five candidates are incredibly talented and to be mentioned in the same category as those guys is a true blessing. I’m so thankful to be in this position every single day. Thank you to all the amazing Admirals fans who have reached out to me. Without them, there is no Admirals hockey,” DeWitt said.

DeWitt broadcasts Admirals games on FloHockey and Mixlr, with select home broadcasts airing on WGNT-27.

The Admirals hired DeWitt as the team’s play-by-play voice in August 2019. He also serves as the Director of Hockey Communications and recently completed his first season as a Hockey Operations Assistant.

DeWitt graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in May 2018.

The Admirals are also nominated for Most Creative Ticket Package of the Year.
