ARNOLD, Maryland — Lionsbridge erupted for six first half goals on the way to a lopsided 8-1 win against Patuxent FA on a cold, rainy Wednesday night in Maryland. Felix Ewald and Denis Krioutchenkov both scored hat tricks, the first time in club history that two Lionsbridge players scored a hat trick in the same game.
Ewald struck three times in the first half, finishing off his hat trick in the 42nd minute after earlier goals in the 15th and 26th. He was substituted off at halftime, along with three other starters.
Krioutchenkov opened the scoring in the 4th minute and capped his own hat trick with goals in the 32nd and 85th, earning Riverside Man of the Match honors.
Gabi Rodriguez and Sam Hall added goals for the visitors, who remain unbeaten and sit atop the Chesapeake Division at 2-0-1 (7 points).
Lionsbridge could have scored even more in the second half, but twice hit the post and saw two more chances cleared off the line.
Bennett added three assists to add to existing his career club record, with Baker and Christou each chipping in one.
Lionsbridge returns home Sunday night, May 25 for a friendly against Greenville United. It will be Mosquito Joe Night with a chance to meet Langley Speedway driver Mad Dog and a postgame fireworks show, presented by Bowditch Ford.
