NEW KENT— Colonial Downs in New Kent was completely sold out on March 15 for the running of the Virginia Oaks and the Virginia Derby. From horse racing to live music, the family friendly event had something for every age.
American Promise took home the Virginia Derby title in a track record setting race. With the win, American Promise has been awarded 50 points and has secured a spot for the running of the 151st Kentucky Derby, scheduled for May 3 at Churchill Downs.
