NEWPORT NEWS — Christopher Newport senior forward Hannah Orloff added a record-tying fifth Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week certificate when the league office announced she was recognized as the top player for games played between February 3-9 on Monday afternoon. Orloff becomes just the third player in league history and the first Captain to earn the recognition five times in a single season.

With another impressive performance against Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, Orloff joined a pair of All-Americans in Southern Virginia University center Katie Garrish (2018-19) and York College of Pennsylvania guard Keli Ward (2008-09) as the only members of the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference to collect five Player of the Week plaudits in league history. The aforementioned pair did so under the umbrella of the Capital Athletic Conference, the former name of the league, leading CNU’s senior star to lay claim as the only player to accomplish the feat in the C2C.

Additionally, Orloff is the first Captain with five since the legendary Hall of Famer Chelsie Schweers grabbed the same number of Athlete of the Week selections from the USA South Athletic Conference in 2010-11. She already made history earlier this year as the first player in league history to earn three straight Player of the Week picks.

This week, the Howell, New Jersey native dazzled the crowd on Senior Day with an unforgettable punctuation mark to her final home regular season game. She scored a game-high 15 points, including the first-ever three-pointer of her career. The long-range jumper lifted the home fans onto their feet as she capped one of the most efficient scoring performances of her career 7-of-8 from the field (.875).

On top of her scoring output, Orloff commanded the paint again, hauling in six rebounds and swatting a pair of shots. She also had two steals and an assist in the game as she finished out her Senior Day showing with 20 minutes of action.

Overall this season, Orloff has climbed to 20th nationally in blocks per game (2.36) and ranks 16th in total rejections with 52. She also ranks in the top-75 nationally in O-boards, averaging 3.5 per contest. With a banner swan song, Orloff has put her name amongst some of the most efficient active Division III players, ranking 11th in career field-goal percentage (.568). With 139 career blocks, she also ranks 24th among active players while ranking fourth all-time at CNU.

The nationally-ranked Captains improved to 22-1 overall this season with their 15th consecutive victory. Ranked as high as No. 5 in the nation, CNU will play just a single game this week with a road trip to the University of Mary Washington scheduled for Saturday, February 15.
