DANBURY, Conn. — After posting outstanding performances in the Tribe’s meets last weekend, William & Mary standout men’s gymnasts Sam Lee and Gavin Zborowski earned weekly honors by the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).
Lee was selected as the league’s specialist of the week, while Zborowski was honored as the co-rookie of the week.
Lee was W&M’s top performer at the Greenville dual meet as he posted a trio of top-three finishes. In addition to winning the parallel bars title (13.55), he placed second on vault (14.45) and high bar (12.55 – season high).
Zborowski highlighted the Tribe’s individual efforts at the Illinois tri-meet (with Simpson) and placed second in all-around with a career-high 76.95. Additionally, he recorded the Tribe’s top score on pommel horse with a career-best 13.05, while he also registered career highs on floor (13.15) and rings (12.9).
Among the ECAC’s top gymnasts this season, Lee currently ranks second in the league on vault (14.533) and parallel bars (13.667), while Zborowski is second in all-around (76.177).
W&M will return to action when it competes at a tri-meet hosted by Army (with Springfield) this Saturday at 1 p.m.
