WILLIAMSBURG — The William & Mary men’s gymnastics team posted its second-best score of the season but was defeated by No. 8 Cal, 393.15-376.9, in a virtual meet at Williamsburg Gymnastics on Sunday afternoon.
W&M was led by a quintet of standouts who posted top-three finishes. Sam Lee led the way by placing second on vault with a 14.45, while Niko Greenly (13.4) and Ricky Pizem (12.75) finished third on rings and high bar, respectively. Greenly’s effort was a career high.
Aidan Cuy and Jared Noyman tied for third on parallel bars with a 13.15, as Cuy’s score represented a season high. Cuy also recorded W&M’s top score in two other events, as he registered season bests on floor (12.65) and pommel horse (12.45).
In addition to earning its second-best score this season, W&M also posted a season high on pommel horse (60.1) and defeated Cal on parallel bars (63.45-62.25).
