PHILADELPHIA — The William & Mary women’s gymnastics team earned its best score of the season en route to a third-place finish at a quad meet hosted by Penn on Sunday afternoon.
Cornell claimed the team title with a 194.125 and was followed by Penn (193.750), W&M (192.750) and Bridgeport (191.225).
Ascha Laird highlighted the Tribe’s individual performances by tying for third on bars with a season-high 9.750, while Michelle Ngo and Grace Costello tied for fifth on floor with a 9.800. The score represented a career-high for Costello.
Sarah Kuper and Madeline Frazier also posted top-10 finishes, as Kuper tied for seventh on vault (9.725, equaled season high) and Frazier tied for ninth on beam (9.600).
En route to posting its best team total of the season, W&M recorded season highs in three events — vault (48.125), bars (48.450) and floor (48.475).
