WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary head women’s basketball coach Erin Dickerson Davis announced the Tribe’s 2023-24 non-conference schedule on Monday. The Tribe’s 11-game slate includes eight contests against opponents from the Commonwealth, five home tilts and three against NCAA Tournament teams, including a trip to Final Four participant Virginia Tech.

W&M kicks off the season with three-straight home games against in-state competition. The women host MEAC Champion Norfolk State as part of a Tribe Basketball doubleheader on Monday, Nov. 6, at 5 p.m. It marks the ninth-straight season the teams have met. The Spartans won 26 games last season on their way to the NCAA Tournament.
The Tribe wraps up the first week of the season with home games against Atlantic-10 opponents. W&M hosts VCU on Friday, Nov. 10, before welcoming George Mason to Kaplan Arena on Sunday, Nov. 12. The Tribe has won two in a row against the Rams, while W&M and Mason meet for the fourth-straight year.
W&M hits the road for its first of two at Atlantic Coast Conference opponents when it travels to Virginia on Wednesday, Nov. 15. It is the third year in a row that the Tribe and Cavaliers have met. The Tribe also wraps up the nonconference slate at reigning ACC Champion Virginia Tech on Thursday, Dec. 21. The Hokies won 31 games in advancing to the Final Four in 2023.
The Tribe will spend the Thanksgiving Holiday in South Florida at the FIU Thanksgiving Classic, Nov. 24-26. The tournament will include Bryant and Tennessee State along with the host FIU and W&M. The opening round is set for Friday, Nov. 24, with the final round to follow on Sunday, Nov. 26.
The Green and Gold returns home to wrap up the month of November with former CAA rival Old Dominion on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. The Tribe and Monarchs face off for the 32nd-straight season and the series dates back to 1931. ODU won 22 games last season and advanced to the Sun Belt semifinals.
The Tribe starts December with two straight on the road. W&M travels to Navy on Sunday, Dec. 3, before heading to Sun Belt Champion James Madison on Thursday, Dec. 7. The Tribe and JMU are former CAA rivals and have met on 94 occasions.
W&M wraps up the home portion of the nonconference schedule against Longwood on Sunday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m. The Tribe has won the last two meetings between the schools, including a 67-57 victory in Farmville last season.
Last season, the Tribe matched a program-record with 12 CAA wins on the way to 18 total victories in Davis’s first season. The Green and Gold was the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and advanced to the semifinals of postseason play for the sixth time in program history—defeating Hofstra in the quarterfinals. The 18 wins were the fourth most in Green and Gold history and the most ever by a first-year head coach.
