WILLIAMSBURG — After excelling on the field and in the classroom, William & Mary football defensive lineman Momen Zahid was selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Zahid advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, as the national honorees will be announced in late December.
The Ashburn, Va., native appeared in all 11 games this season and totaled 2.0 sacks, 3.5 TFL and a PBU en route to helping W&M post its best regular season record in school history (10-1) and earn a share of the Colonial Athletic Association title.
Zahid currently owns a 3.93 GPA and is considering which major to pursue.
W&M will continue its quest for a National Championship as the No. 5 seed in the upcoming NCAA FCS Playoffs.
The Tribe will have a bye this week before hosting the winner of Gardner-Webb/Eastern Kentucky at Zable Stadium on Dec. 3 at 2 p.m.
