WILLIAMSBURG — As the College of William & Mary kicks off the fall semester, so too does Tribe Athletics. Here is what is on schedule for the next week.

Women’s Soccer – The Tribe lost a close match to Virginia Tech 1-0 on Sunday, Aug. 22. Sophomore goalkeeper Grace Lemley had a career high five saves. The one that got by was a header off corner kick at the 50 minute mark.

“It was a great battle today. Traveling and playing on the road in the same day is always a challenge, and I was really proud of the effort,” Head Coach Julie Shackford said. “Grace Lemley had a great day at the office, thwarting some really dangerous opportunities. Defensively, we were happy not to give up anything in the run of play. We look forward to getting to Albert-Daly Field this weekend!”

This brings their record to 1-1 as they head into their season home opener against Old Dominion University. The match starts at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26 at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field,  275 Tennis Court. On Sunday, Aug 29 at 11:30 a.m. the Tribe will host Northwestern University.

Both matches will be streamed on FloFC.

Women’s Volleyball – Tribe Volleyball will kick off its season on the road as it takes on Western Illinois University at a neutral site in Dekalb, Ill, home of Northern Illinois University. The first match is set for 6 p.m. Friday, Aug 26. The next day they will play the Air Force Academy at 11 a.m.
