After allowing the early goal, Bruton goalie Pyper Johnston held the Islanders scoreless for the remainder of the game. Johnston logged 11 saves in the win.

Barker’s second-half goal came from the left side and just beat the outstretched arms of Poquoson’s keeper.

Neither team was able to break through in overtime and the game ultimately ended in a draw.
