Girls Tennis: Jamestown Closes Regular Season With Win Against Grafton

Jamestown hit the road and defeated Grafton 6-3 on Monday, resuming a match that was unable to be continued because of weather late last week.

When the match ended last Thursday, Jamestown held a 4-2 lead after singles play.

The Eagles were able to close out the match Monday by winning two of three doubles matches against the Clippers.

Jamestown (10-4) and Grafton (8-4) will now wait to find out their opponents in the Conference 18 tournament.

Warhill Defeats New Kent in Conference 25 Tournament

Warhill’s girls tennis team defeated New Kent 5-2 at home Monday in the first round of the Conference 25 tournament.

The Lions opened the match with a strong performance in singles, winning four of the six matches.

Needing one win in doubles to survive and advance, Warhill’s No. 2 doubles team cruised 6-1, 6-1 past New Kent to end the match.

Warhill (4-9) will now travel to play Colonial Heights on Tuesday.
