Walsingham Academy’s girls outdoor track and field team took third place during a meet at Norfolk Academy over the weekend.
In the girls competition, sophomores Kiely Curran and Delaney Riggs finished second and fourth, respectively, in the 400-meter dash.
Denise Dangeleit took third in the 100-meter hurdles, while Camryn Mann finished third in the 200-meter dash. Dangeleit also took fifth place in the shot put.
Grace Klopp notched a third-place finish in the 3,200-meter run. Walsingham’s 4×100-meter relay team of Mann, Riggs, Sarah Benson and Curran finished in second place. The 4×400-meter relay team of Mann, Riggs, Benson and Curran also took second place.
The Trojans finished fifth out of 10 teams in the boys competition.
Chris Correll finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles. Jack Grimson also earned a runner-up finish, his coming in the 800-meter run.
Walsingham’s 4×400-meter relay team of Correll, Connor Norris, Grimson and Petr Ptacek finished third.
