Williamsburg Parks and Rec Opens Youth Softball League Registration

City of Williamsburg logoThe Williamsburg Parks and Recreation Department is currently holding registration for its spring youth softball leagues.

Registration, which began Monday for girls ages 5 to 13, will run through Feb. 28. Girls ages 14 to 16 may register for fast pitch leagues from March 1 to April 3.

For the first time, Williamsburg Parks and Recreation will be offering T-ball in a girls-only league. Girls ages 5 to 6 may participate in the inaugural T-ball leagues at a cost of $40 per participant.

“We’re really excited about it,” Recreation Supervisor Tyler Cobb said. “In the past, several girls would play [T-ball] with the boys. Giving that age group an opportunity to start playing … that’s something we’re excited about trying.”

Girls ages 7 to 8 may participate in coach pitch leagues for $45 per participant.

Fast-pitch leagues are broken up into three ages groups for girls 9 to 10, 11 to 13 and 14 to 16. Players may register for fast pitch leagues at a cost of $50 per participant.

Interested players may register in person at the Quarterpath Recreation Center located at 202 Quarterpath Road or online by clicking here.
