Virginia Legacy to Offer Indoor Soccer Rec League

va legacyVirginia Legacy Soccer Club will look to offer instruction to youth soccer players even as the weather turns south during the winter.

Starting Jan. 9, boys and girls ages 4 to 18 can play in the Williamsburg-James City County Recreational Soccer League, which is presented by Virginia Legacy for the first time.

Teams of four will play small-sided games with players of similar ages and skill levels from Jan. 9 to Feb. 20. Games will be played on designated game days throughout the winter months indoors at the Premier Sports Center in Toano.

The games are meant to be competitive, while still offering a learning environment for developing players.

Basic skills of soccer will be taught by Virginia Legacy coaches during practices and games throughout the league season. Each child is guaranteed to play at least half of every game throughout the season.

In addition to games, four training clinics led by Virginia Legacy Community Director Alex Spirn will be held for each age group. Players will also receive a uniform shirt to wear during games and practices.

The registration cost for the first child in a family is $55. Additional children in a family can be registered for a $5 discount. For more information about the league or to register, click here.
