Warhill running back Bryce Koob accounted for three touchdowns during a 51-7 rout of Jamestown on the road Tuesday.
The Lions started fast out of the gate, as quarterback Ryan Creecy connected with PJ Casanave for a 22-yard touchdown with roughly 9:30 left in the first quarter.
Jamestown responded almost three minutes later when Hunter Brittain hit Demarjia Lewis for a 12-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 7-7.
Armon Fannin responded in a big way for Warhill, returning the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown to help the Lions retake the lead. Later in the first quarter, Koob logged his first touchdown of the game after scoring on an 8-yard run.
With Warhill leading 21-7 after the first quarter, the Lions extended their lead as Koob once again found the end zone, this time coming off a 1-yard touchdown run. Koob’s two touchdowns led Warhill to a 28-7 halftime advantage.
The Warhill defense started the second half with a big play as the Lions recorded a safety roughly midway through the third quarter. Later in the third quarter, Koob scored on his third rushing touchdown to put the Lions up 37-7 over the Eagles.
With the game out of hand heading into the fourth quarter, the Lions added two more late touchdowns to put the finishing touches on an all-around dominant performance.
After starting the season 0-5, Warhill (3-6) has won three of its last four games and is poised to enter the postseason on a hot streak. The Lions will conclude their regular season at home Friday against Bruton.
Meanwhile, Jamestown (1-8) will finish its regular season on the road against York on Saturday.
