
Warhill’s cross-country teams swept the Thursday’s Conference 25 championship that was held at the Eastern State campus.
On the girls side, the Lions took first place with a commanding score of 20, which edged second-place Poquoson by 31 points.
Warhill placed four runners in the top five spots in the girls race. Hannah Hrncir took first place overall with a time of 20:25, which was followed by Martina Watson (22:56) and Sianna Ferguson (23:04) in second and third place, respectively.
In fifth place was Lauren Dansereau with a time of 24:23, and rounding our the Warhill scorers was Faith Lovell in ninth place in a time of 25:08.
The Lions also dominated the boys race with 28 team points. Runners-up New Kent finished the race with 42 points.
Daniel Cretney had the best performance for Warhill, claiming second place in a time of 16:48. Matthew Hrncir finished in third place overall in a time of 17:04.
In sixth place was Spencer Conti with a time of 17:46, and seventh place was Braden Troy-Wilson in a time of 17:49. Finally, Ruben Davila finished 12th in 18:14.
