Boys Soccer: Walsingham Shut Out by Norfolk Academy

Kelau SmithWalsingham Academy could not find any momentum against Norfolk Academy during a 6-0 rout on the road Thursday.

Norfolk Academy jumped on Walsingham early, scoring four quick goals in the first half.

Trailing 4-0 at halftime, Walsingham allowed a pair of goals in the second half, including Dillon Jacob’s fourth of the game for Norfolk Academy.

The poor start sank Walsingham, who never had a chance to get back into the game.

Walsingham (7-5-1) will look to rebound when it hosts Cape Henry on Tuesday.

HRA Routs Peninsula Catholic

Hampton Roads Academy cruised to a 6-0 win against Peninsula Catholic on the road Thursday behind a hat trick from Clay Wingfield.

The Navigators jumped out in front early and built a commanding 4-0 lead by halftime.

In the second half, Wingfield secured his hat trick as HRA added two more goals to secure the victory.

HRA (8-2) will play host to Norfolk Christian on Tuesday.
