Walsingham Academy won its fifth consecutive game of the season, earning a 2-1 road victory against Norfolk Christian on Tuesday.
The Trojans got on the board early as Landon Gero found the back of the net for the first time this season.
Gero rifled a shot into the upper-90 area of the net from 10 yards out as Walsingham went up 1-0 in the sixth minute of play.
After entering halftime leading 1-0, Walsingham built on its lead when, in the 56th minute, Connor Norris sent a low, hard shot past the Norfolk Christian goalkeeper to go up 2-0.
Norfolk Christian cut its deficit in half when Zach Milligan sneaked behind the Walsingham defense and slotted the ball past Trojan goalkeeper Bryce Behm in the 61st minute.
The Trojans stood strong for the remainder of the game and held on for the victory.
Walsingham (7-4-1) now faces a tall task when they host the top-ranked Division I team in the Tidewater Conference, Norfolk Academy, on Thursday.
