Cross-Country: Walsingham Girls Win Walsingham Invitational; Boys Take Second

trojansWalsingham Academy’s girls cross-country team took home first place, while the boys team finished second during Thursday’s Walsingham XC Invitational.

Showing comfort on their home course, Walsingham Academy’s girls placed five runners in the top 11, while the boys finished two points shy of first place.

The Trojans were led in the girls race by Camryn Mann (21:45) and Delaney Riggs (21:46), who finished third and fourth overall in the race. Mann and Riggs finished the race less than one second apart.

Walsingham’s Frankie Riggs (22:48) finished in seventh place, while Kiely Curran (23:21) and Grace Vidlak (23:21) rounded out the Trojans’ scorers in 10th and 11th place, respectively.

The Trojans once again saw success during their home meet, taking runner-up honors in the boys race.

Mathian Cannon of Walsingham won the boys race in a time of 17:14, while his teammate Jack Grimson finished in seventh place.

The next followers for Walsingham were Chris Correll (19:41) in 12th place, Jake Lobash (19:43) in 13th place and Patrick Murphy (21:11) in 25th place.
