For the third consecutive Bay Rivers District golf match, New Kent came out on top while Jamestown finished second, this time at Colonial Heritage Golf Club on Thursday.

New Kent took first place with a combined team score of 315, with Jamestown following just behind with a 319. Warhill rounded out the top three well back at 351.

Jamestown was led by William Bell and C.J. Montero, each of whom carded a season-best six-over 78. The two golfers were the only Historic Triangle players to shoot under 80.

Evan Kerr led Warhill with a 10-over 82, his best round of the year by nine strokes. Blake Sawyer and Bryce Parker both shot 88 to help give the Lions a top-three finish.

Lafayette was led by Tawni Hatcher, who shot an 11-over 83. Behind her by two strokes was Jacob Smethurst with a 13-over 85.

Thursday’s match played significantly tougher than the last Bay Rivers District match at Kiln Creek, with most players shooting higher scores across the board.

The next Bay Rivers District golf match is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ford’s Colony Golf Club.
